About me ​

I'm a software engineer with over 20+ years of experience, currently working at Kleinanzeigen (formerly eBay Kleinanzeigen) where I help build and maintain Germany's most popular classifieds platform.

My journey in software development has taken me from backend systems to mobile applications, with a recent focus on iOS development. I've been working remotely for more than 9 years, long before it became mainstream.

The most used classifieds app in Germany, where I currently work full-time as a Staff iOS Engineer. In this role, I'm responsible for CI/CD pipeline architecture and driving overall iOS platform architecture decisions. While maintaining these infrastructure responsibilities, I'm also actively contributing to one of the payment teams, working on features that enable secure transactions for millions of users across Germany. This dual role allows me to balance strategic technical leadership with hands-on product development, ensuring both platform stability and feature delivery.

Less Paper iOS App ​

Less Paper is a side project I work on in my spare time - a native iOS client for the paperless-ngx project. Paperless-ngx is a community-developed supercharged version of paperless: a machine learning powered document management system that automatically organizes and indexes your physical documents into a searchable online archive. As a bit of a home automation geek, I wanted a polished mobile experience to access my document archive on the go, so I built this native iOS app to provide seamless integration with my self-hosted paperless-ngx instance.

Poloniex Crypto Exchange Apps ​

What started as a side project became the official Poloniex mobile app. I originally built this iOS application independently, which later caught the attention of Poloniex and was officially acquired by the company. The project expanded to include Android development, where Ciprian Ursu immediately took over Android development as he's much more proficient than me in that platform. This project showcased my ability to build production-ready fintech applications from concept to acquisition, handling complex cryptocurrency trading workflows and real-time market data.
